Is there a way to make snippets editable?

    No. To modify a snippet, place the existing snippet on the stage, make the modification and the save as a new snippet.

    Can you please elaborate what is a stage? Is this the white canvas?

    yes..the white area is the stage

    I tried editing it on the stage but it reselects all the components again? Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

    You will need yo ungroup the snippet. Select the snippet and in the property inspector click the Ungroup button.
